Bio

Anna's work has spanned Australia, Europe and the US. She is the recipient of a 2021 Daytime Emmy Nomination for her latest film, Take My Heart, in the Outstanding Daytime Fiction Program. 

 

From BAFTA/Los Angeles she won the Platinum Award

'Best Film and Screenplay' for her film, Chasing Chekhov at the Members' Short Film Festival. The film was shot in Prague and based on Anna's oft produced play. 

 

Anna started her career in Sydney, Australia, where she worked with well known actors and directors in film and television including Phillip Noyce, Jack Thompson, Ken Cameron to name a few.

She also became the face for very poplular Colgate toothpaste commericals! Anna feels honored to have studied acting early on with the renowned and extraordinary Brian Syron, the first Indigenous Australian to direct a feature film.

London beckoned where her first job was at the Royal Court Theatre with The Young People's Theatre Playwrights' Program. Anna studied voice and Shakespeare at RADA and scene study at The Actors' Center. Anna played leading roles in comedies and dramas at The Roundhouse; ICA Theatres (London) and Repertory Theatres throughout Britain. Such as: Sarah in The Norman Conquests by Alan Ayckbourn; Strindberg's Easter and many classics and new plays.

In New York Anna studied with venerable teachers, Stella Adler and Robert Lewis. Lead roles Off Broadway (and Off-Off): Elizabeth in The Crucible with The Ensemble Company at the Roundabout Theatre; Pinter's The Lover and new plays such as Taster's Choice on Theatre Row. Recurring starring roles on: As The World Turns; Another World and indie films.

Anna attended workshops at The Actor's Studio in Los Angeles for four years, moderated by Martin Landau and Shelley Winters. Theatre credits in LA include: Theatre East and Complex Theatre productions of her play, Chasing Chekhov. Also lead roles in:

Lost in the Movies at The Court Theatre; Anon by Kate Robin (Writer/Six feet Under) at Playhouse 52 with The Echo Theatre Company.

Anna had a recurring role as the mysterious French Marie-Helene on Days of Our Livesand returned to play a French babysitter and French actress! She has been seen on other TV shows, Martial Law etc, and many films. Additional award winning films Anna wrote and starred in include: Coming Into Money; The Red Scarf. Produced by her film company VisionFire Films Inc; which she operates with her partner, Peter Sands. Their combined films have screened at over seventy film festivals worldwide and sold to Television. VisionFire Films has several projects in development including

Art of Deceit, Tough 2 Love and the Other Day (El Otro Dia) as a TV series. Anna is writing and starring in The Other Day.

She's also adapting her play:

Being Maureen, (previously The Grass Couch) into a feature film which she will direct. The play was developed by The Directors Company  in New York and is moving to the next phase of production as well as being adapted into a screenplay.

 Summer Wine,

A family dramedy set in Italy. Little Studio Productions, Beverly Hills.

 

Salt Creek,

A female centric western and feature version of her award winning short film, The Aerial Girl.   Anna shares story credit with Terri Sissman, who wrote the screenplay.

Of Corsica

A mad cap art heist comedy set in Corsica, France. Co written with Peter Sands. A VisionFire Films Production.
